Voice ordering in the Tapp app

Say the order. Check it. Take payment.

Your team dictates the order in English or German, and Tapp fills a draft with the items from your menu at your menu’s prices, ready to check before payment.

An order is dictated into Tapp: the transcript types in, the items land at menu prices, a correction changes a quantity, and the order goes on to payment.

Voice ordering

The draft fills in while you speak, with the newest words right above the microphone.

Made for a busy floor

Speak the way the guest ordered

Quantities, sizes and changes of mind go in as they are said. Anything Tapp is unsure about waits for a quick check.

Two large colas … make the cola small

COCola£2.90Small

Correct it out loud

Say “make the cola small” or “actually just one” and the line changes. The steppers keep working while you talk.

COCola£2.90Small

“two cokes” Is this right?

Unsure matches ask first

A line Tapp is not certain about gets a dashed tile and a question. Confirm it, or tap the item that was meant.

Around every voice order

Review it, teach it, measure it

Transcripts, learned phrases and a voice report keep the feature accountable to the people who run the restaurant.

  • Stop dictating and read back what was said while the recording plays. Owners and managers can open it later on the order in the web app’s History.

  • When the team keeps using a house name for a dish, Tapp asks once which item it means. One tap teaches it; a wrong match can be retired.

  • See how many orders start by voice, how many go through without changes and how long dictation takes. For owners and managers, in the web app.

  • Finished? Choose payment straight from the draft order and continue with the payment methods your shop offers.

Oh, and a small orange juice. Actually, make it three flat whites.

Part of the order flow

A voice order is a normal Tapp order

It lands in the same basket, is paid the same way and is counted in the same reports.

  • Two guests at a restaurant table order while a waiter builds their order by voice on a phone running the Tapp POS

    Point of sale

Voice fills the same basket as the menu grid. Choose “Add more items” at any time and carry on by hand.

  • A guest tapping a contactless card on a phone running Tapp

    Tap to Pay

Take the contactless payment on the same phone as soon as the order is right.

  • Tapp’s web dashboard on a laptop, open on Analytics: Revenue & Orders for the chosen period

Voice orders count in your sales, and the web app adds a report on how voice ordering is used.
